Games of the Mad Part VIIIGary still felt like shit when he awoke, his shirt as green with blood as it had been when he had fallen asleepGames of the Mad Part VIII
Evidently, his bullet wound hadn't scabbed over yet. The slug would have to be removed and Gary didn't have the skills to do it himself.
Groaning, he got up to his feet shakily, his talons shivering as the bloodloss hit him. His co-ordination was crude and everything was blurry. The pain made it hard for him to even
think straight, all he knew was that he'd have to get to the hospital. Grasping to that with a brain that felt like it'd been wrapped in a sack of cotton and nettles, he walked onto the street,

Gary Games of the Mad POV VIThe police station was far from a beacon of justice and order in a cruel world. The Gilded Run dealers just peddled their wares with the same lack of fear in front of it as they would outside an abandoned building. Ignoring the sale pitches of the "working girls", Gary walked inside the dingy looking brick building.Gary Games of the Mad POV VI
The light was dim, a flourescent drone that permeated the very atmosphere of the building. If you closed your eyes one could almost imagine it was the sound of the eroding city's crime, draining the energy of the few men who were idealistic or foolish enough to actually work here. Tired looking men walked quietly back

Games of the Mad Gary POV VThe streets were strewn with debris from last nights gale. Gary's boots beat right through the hard cement sidewalk unheeding of the rocks and gravel chips. Night life in this part of Megiddo VII was usually nonexistent, due to the aforementioned gales. But they made up for it in the daytime. Drunken people weaved around prostitutes trying to sell their bodies for a half-decent bed and probably a burn of Gilded Run too. Gilded Run was provided by the generous dealers that hawked their wares to Gary as he walked forward unceasingly, concentrating only on getting to the prescint and what would come after.
